About Me

I am a bilingual elementary school teacher with a decade of classroom experience. As a student in college, I studied Comparative Literature with a concentration in Peace and Conflict Studies. I started my career as a social justice lobbyist with the Quakers. Now, as a teacher, I see the classroom as a place for children to become compassionate and responsible citizens. My teaching background includes experience in Responsive Classroom, EL Education, Teachers College Readers and Writers Workshop, and a variety of math curricula. I strive to be an anti-bias and anti-racist teacher, and for my classroom to be a safe space for my students.

I have been in Washington, DC for nearly 13 years, and I love biking the area to get from place to place. I live with my husband, four-year-old daughter, and stinky beagle mix.
